This piece is a multiple in 25 copies in honor of the 25th anniversary of Bologna Sample (1992) upon which it is inspired. Functioning as a ceramic trivet or platter it also allows people to re-enact the eponymous edible performance piece described at index item … The edible version was created in 2014 for a show in Bologna, Italy called “Lettere dolci e salate” (Sweet and Savory Letters).
Bologna (Salumi) Sample is a hand-built terracotta tile made in Bologna by Rosa Bagnaresi of Argille e D’intorni, after which it was glazed with hand-painted majolica by Laura Pergola of L’Aura Majolica.
